Little Tybee sunset photo shoot

Well I decided that I would do a sunset/night paddle out to Little Tybee… by myself. Gulp. Got some great shots but lets just say that the journey back was slightly terrifying. Three foot swells, no moon and only my headlamp and shore lights to guide me. Yeah smart J… very very smart… well here’s the shots.

Night Paddle – an experiment in long exposure

We decided that this friday we were going to do a night paddle for the first time. We opted for butterbean beach and pigeon island with a quick stint on moonriver (yes the one from the song) by moon light. I won’t bore you with details but I will say that it was magical out there. The evening was really brought to a good close by a pod of dolphins swimming amongst us as we paddled back to the launch. They were so close you could touch them and feel the spray from them exhaling.

I grabbed some shots on Pigeon island of us all and we did a little light graffiti… check it out!

Journey to Little Tybee – once again!

At the request of Lady Tybee (ie Jean) we made our paddle out to the island after some minor misfortune on my  part – flat tire, which I changed quickly and got a move on. We had the largest group yet today – six people. It was the best weather we’ve had out there not too hot and lots of cloud cover. I got some pretty good shots I think my favs are the dragonflys, but the portrait of Don is pretty good too… you guys tell me!

Ebenezer Creek – kayaking in cypress!

Don and I set out for the 45 min drive into backwoods Georgia to try out Ebenezer Creek. My photos do not do it justice. It was breath taking. Despite being constantly paranoid about dropping my  camera and sitting in an algae filled boat I had an amazing time . Definitely worth a return trip.

We hit up Little Tybee once more this week – was a good work out for sure. Jean came along this time, so I shot some portraits of her. I especially love the one of her and Don… Lord and Lady Tybee… haha. Would have had more but it was so damn hot that my camera stopped working!! Hope you like em! Next week we are thinking Cypress Swamp!!! Oh yeah!!!
